The prestigious Endurance Karting event promoted by CRG will be back in 2022 and will take place on 26th and 27th March, on the Italian racetrack in Adria. After the limitations due to Covid this year, the organizers were convinced to move this event to June, but the 5th edition of the karting marathon that CRG organizes with its Honda-powered Centurion Rental Karts will be back to its usual timing at the end of March.
The 2022 Endurance racing season will therefore begin with this important meeting that has become a “classic” annual event for the teams from all over the world, which are the 4-stroke Rental karts races’ protagonists. Indeed, the international flair has characterized this race since its first edition, registering crews coming from Asia, America and the main European countries.
The CRG event is not just a high-level challenge between the most competitive and professional teams in Endurance karting; in fact, a special ranking called “Silver” has always been reserved for the most amateur teams, so that all enthusiasts can really participate in this race and compete against squads of equal experience.
The success of the event is also closely linked to the location, the beautiful Adria track, which is the only in the world able to guarantee the teams not only a fantastic circuit where to drive, but also a pioneering lighting system for the night and some unique facilities for this type of events. All teams will have a masonry box set up and, upon request, a hotel room can be reserved, directly above the pit lane, in order to have a resting point for the entire crew to relax.
On the technical side, on the other hand, CRG will guarantee an added value by providing the teams with brand new Centurion Karts with Honda 390cc engines, which will be managed by a centralized assistance point for all teams with a staff comingfrom the racing department.
The race formula chosen by CRG envisages consists of assigning the kart by drawing lots to the teams, who will then manage it throughout the entire event, without changing it, unless assistance is required. In this case, the back-up karts will only be used for the time needed for repairing the racing ones. This choice also aims to enhance the ability of the individual team to manage the vehicle over the course of the demanding competition, which will include more than 1250 laps of the Venetian racetrack.
A further great plus of the 24Hours Karting of Italy are the high organizational standards that provide, for example, the monitor room with 26 cameras available to the 3 designated race directors and the massive communication plan that includes live streaming of the event, with a commentary studio for the interviews of the protagonists.
To take part in the race, a minimum age of 14 years old is required, while the teams must consist of 4 up to 10 drivers. As regards the sporting regulations, the great freedom in race strategies was confirmed, which will only include the obligation of a total of 30 driver changes for the “Pro” teams and 35 changes for the “Silver” ones. In addition, each registered driver will not be able to drive within the 24-hour race for more than 7 hours and the karts will be equipped with a weight balancing system for the different drivers. Precisely with regard to the go-karts, it should be pointed out that the CRG Centurions are equipped with adjustable pedals and seat systems, so as to offer the maximum comfort even to drivers of very different heights.
Registration for the event will officially open on Monday 22nd November and will close when the 42 crews admitted are reached. The complete regulations will be available on the CRG official website in the 24 Hours of Italy section within a few days. The registration fee with the all-inclusive formula (kart rental, assistance and track services) has been set at Euro 2.600,00 + VAT and the first 20 teams registered will have pre-emption for the hotel rooms, located above the pit lane.
